Before your first visit, it’s best to be fully prepared. Here are a few tips for making the most of your visit to the new home design center.

Research Before You Go

One can spend hours and months looking at different new home ideas. There are endless options for large-scale finishes like paint and flooring materials and detailed features like lighting and hardware. If possible, research well before you go to the new home design center. Decisions include exterior siding color, exterior stone vs. brick, cabinet style, floor plan, and much more. As much as possible, know what you want before you go.  You can visit the Ameri-Star website and click the tab Floor Plans where you can see the array of plans to choose from including virtual tours. 

Know the Baseline Features

Every new construction home builder has a set of features that every home will come with by default. Knowing what these features are will immediately help you distinguish between what a baseline feature is vs. an upgrade. It is at this point that you will need to decide what your must-haves are and how they compare with what Ameri-Star Homes offers. Take Thorough Notes

At the Design Center, take notes on the items you are thinking of selecting. Ameri-Star’s Design Center allows you to choose your exterior materials, roofing, cabinetry, light fixtures, kitchen and bath fixtures, flooring, granite countertops, cable and phone locations, and much more. If you plan to make your decision at a later meeting, you can look at your notes and photos for reference.  The beauty of the design center is that you get to touch and feel and evaluate the finishes in person.
