Stabilizing Costs

Both the price of housing and raw materials experienced some stabilization in the latter half of 2021. Experienced and well-positioned building companies with long-standing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers have found means for dealing with labor and supply chain issues.  It’s now more important than ever to choose your builder carefully. Builders have used strategies that included alternative but comparable materials or stockpiles and inventory of more difficult materials to obtain.

Lower Demand for Housing

In the meantime, the urgent housing demand that struck 2020 and the beginning of 2021 is also easing. The demand for housing and the rate of bidding wars are both slowing down, returning to a more normal-looking housing market for 2022. With less demand, it will be easier for house hunters to find the home for them at lower prices.

Increased Inventory

The lower cost of construction materials and the lower demand for housing are only two of the main factors to look forward to when you build a house in 2022. Expectations that the availability of much-needed construction materials will improve. Supply chain shortages have riddled many industries with delays, but supply is bouncing back at the highest rate since May 2021.
